From industry to artistry

I have been screen printing professionally all my working life. Now that I have retired from the industrial side of things, I want to explore more artistic endeavours in the screen printing world.

This journey began in Martinsville, in the Watagan mountains near Newcastle, Australia, with a desire to transform a lifelong skill into a fine art expression.

We are now located in the port city of Newcastle, where I draw inspiration from the traditional industrial surrounds.

Screen printing is an ancient and traditional process that has stood the test of time. It is still a relevant print method today, especially in the artistic side of the process. At Watagan Prints, we believe in honouring this tradition while pushing the boundaries of what is possible, creating unique pieces that resonate with art lovers.

The screen print method is a hands-on process. Each colour is individually printed through a stretched screen, and the colours are hand-mixed to create beautiful, lightfast prints suitable for any situation. We pour our passion into every layer, ensuring each piece from Watagan Prints is a true work of art.
